Member Development

Member Development Project Team

The Member Development team promotes the professional development and academic success of all PHA members. Potential projects for this year include outreach to healthcare professionals and guest speakers from a variety of areas in public health for informational panels and general meetings. Additional projects involve maintaining regular opportunity updates on Slack, developing a stronger member media presence, facilitating the PHA mentorship program, developing a resume/application feedback forum, and/or running professional networking events. Members are also welcome to bring their own unique perspectives to the table and present their own ideas for new projects or modifications to existing ones. Members should be supportive, creative, enjoy working both independently and in small teams, and have strong organizational skills.

Recent Initiatives

Mentor - Mentee System (Pharent - Phid)

We hosted "matchmaking" events for returning members to meet with new members. Using google forms, Phids and Pharents were matched and revealed during fall class!

Monthly Newsletters and PHA yearbooks

Last year, Member Development created the first ever PHA yearbook and is currently developing a yearbook for the 20206-2026 school year. Member Development has also been sending out monthly newsletters to PHA alumni.

Personalized Skill-Development Workshops

Recognizing the diverse skill sets and growth trajectories of our members, these workshops are tailored to individual needs and goals. By customizing each session to address specific skills and interests, we aim to support the unique development of every team member and enhance their professional and personal interactions. We plan to create smaller, personalized skill groups each quarter to help members achieve their personal goals.
