Member Development
Member Development Project Team
The Member Development team promotes the professional development and academic success of all PHA members. Projects for this year include outreach to healthcare professionals and guest speakers from a variety of areas in public health for informational panels and general meetings. Additional projects include facilitating the PHA mentorship program, developing a resume/application feedback forum, and/or running professional networking events. Members are also welcome to bring their own unique perspectives to the table and present their own ideas for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
Recent Initiatives
Mentor - Mentee System (Pharent - Phid)
The Pharent-Phid mentorship program connects incoming PHA members with returning members who can support their academic success, professional growth, and development of PHA case-working skills. Each fall, we host "matchmaking" events that give new and returning members the opportunity to meet and build connections before the final pairings are revealed during fall class!

Monthly Newsletters and PHA yearbooks
Each month, the Member Development team sends a newsletter to PHA alumni featuring updates on recent events and workshops, as well as opportunities to speak at upcoming meetings. The team also creates an annual yearbook celebrating PHA members and their accomplishments at the end of the academic year.
Skill-Development Workshops and Guest Speakers
Recognizing the diverse skill sets and growth trajectories of our members, these workshops are tailored to individual needs and goals. By customizing each session to address specific skills and interests, we aim to support the unique development of every team member and enhance their professional and personal interactions. We plan to create smaller, personalized skill groups each quarter to help members achieve their personal goals.
