Documentary Night Viewing & Discussion

Join us for an educational documentary night as we watch the Academy Award nominated film Heroin(e). This documentary centers on the Opioid epidemic in Huntington, West Virginia where the overdose rate is 10 times the national average. The documentary follows various public officials as they try to deal with the epidemic and help those affected. After the 40 minute documentary we will have 20 minutes of guided discussion where we will talk about how the Opioid epidemic relates to public health. We hope to see you all there!

Mental Health Workshop: "Stress-PHree with PHAmily"

As students interested in the intersection of the social determinants of health, mental health is a topic we often discuss when seeing patients. Yet, students often neglect the manifestation of mental health in their own lives, and we hope to remind the Bruin community of the importance of centering one’s own mental health and wellness when navigating life in these unprecedented times, higher education, and life beyond Westwood. Come join us to reflect on the ways in which mental health frames not only our society, but our day-to-day lives, and learn with us how we might work to mitigate stressors and navigate personal wellness with activities ranging from a roundtable discussion to yoga to guided meditation.

Friday, April 23 | 5:00-6:00 PM PT
